Blog Challenge Day 16: Dream House

I tried to narrow down what house I would love to grow old in, but I couldn't decide! Instead, I'm going to direct you to Hooked on Houses to peruse their collection of TV and movies houses. They've done all the hard work to get the exterior and interior shots so it saved me a whole lot of time. Feel free to peruse and dream up your home there.

What I do have in mind for my dream home includes a lot of little features.
  • Media room/rec room for those lounging movie days with big comfy recliners and couches - preferable where the shades can make it dark, no matter the time of day
  • A large kitchen with a big island and breaskfast bar, double ovens, big ol' refrigerator/freezer
  • A nook in the kitchen for lunches and informal dinners
  • A living room with views and a fire place
  • Large formal dining room that can sit at least 12 and still have room for furniture to store entertainment wares
  • A laundry room on the floor with all the rooms
  • Large his/her walk-in closets in the master bedroom
  • 5-piece bath in the master
  • A sitting room in the master
  • A den with built in shelves
  • All bedrooms have a bathroom or jack and jill bathrooms with separate sinks
  • A store room with shelves and order
  • Little niches and porticos all over to highlight art
  • statement staircase with a foyer to match
  • large open spaces
  • High ceilings
  • dark hardwoord floors with white trim
Basically, I love things that make a home distinct and different from every other one on the block. Mixing builders and styles really makes the eclectic feel a little part of the house's personality.
