She Needs Better Friends

Here are some of my observations from a quick walk on 16th Street Mall yesterday:

  • If you are going to be a grown up and wear a trench coat - I mean, after all you have grown up job downtown - and you button the coat, you MUST tie the belt, at the very least. You can tie it in the front, tie it in the back, actually use the buckle, but you much cinch the waist like the coat was designed for. If you want a coat that doesn't require this much effort, get a peacoat. She needs better friends.
  • GUYS: If your shoes are black and your pants are black, your socks should be black (or another dark color) too. NO WHITE ATHLETIC SOCKS! He needs better friends.
  • If you're going to wear a suit, make sure that you change your purse from the PacSun Fox fabric bag with bright purple. You looked like a high schooler on a field trip for DECA. She needs better friends.
  • While on the topic of fabric and your ensemble, canvas is only acceptable in a briefcase form, not a purse. She needs better friends.
  • Two words: Camel toe. Enough said. She needs better friends.

  1. OMG! That is funny! I want to buy a trench coat so I will remember this now!

  2. Ana, You crack me up!!! Love reading all your little comments.

  3. Ana,
What about Longchamp bags? Those are canvas. I might need to take my $500 investments and burn them.

PS I love your blog, I'm stalking.

  4. Tricia, you bring up a very valid point. I guess my canvas bag reference is to what someone would purchase at a PacSun type store. Nothing that could be confused with a department store, much less a designer.
