A Colorado Cupcake Wedding Weekend

As some of you may know, one of my best friends and fellow blogger, A Colorado Cupcake got hitched this last weekend in beautiful Beaver Creek, Colorado! I stayed with the groom's family and you would never know that we had all met only a handful of times before.

The beautiful bride and her charming husband picked Beaver Creek for the mountain locale and to host a bevy of activities for their guests.

We started off the weekend with a Bridal Luncheon hosted by her future sisters-in-law, Suzi and Ashley.

Then it was on to the Rehearsal dinner hosted by the parents of the groom.

Where they had a S'more making bonfire in honor of the couple! (Note to self: learn how to make homemade marshmallows in mint and orange flavors.) (Actually on second thought, that might lead to a post-dodgeball losing White Goodman style weight gain. Effin' Chuck Norris.)

After the gorgeous ceremony at the Beaver Creek Chapel, the couple sped off into the sun(set) with their shabby chic "Just Married" sign.

Here's an up close of that shabby chic "Just Married" sign.

Then, the real party started! We have a tradition that we dance to Like A Prayer by Madonna at all of our fun, social events.

Here's the groom's cake. It's a Texas tradition, and unfortunately for me, the Aggie fan, it had to be Bevo.

David and Chelsea have both been great friends to me and a true blessing to have shared the first day of the rest of their lives as Mr. & Mrs. Ellis. They have a great support network and I am so glad that these two lovebirds found each other amidst every other guest.

Gentlemen Prefer Blondes

I conducted an experiment this weekend that turned into another experiment once I hit the town.

I bit the bullet and got some hair extensions. Granted, I'm not going all Rapunzel with them, but I did add some length to my medium bob. I was trying them out since I have seen them used with ease with one of my other friends and realized that I would love to have longer hair some days.

With that, I ended up with some perfectly matched strands that I had my hairstylist as and trim accordingly with my appointment. Results of the experiment: I love having long hair. And long, curly hair at that. It's a trip, that's for sure.

Here, you can see how it turned out. (Don't worry, I covered that track with a little teasing.) My hair normally falls at the top of my neck when it's curled like this, so you can see it added some inches in curl. I'll have to follow up with pics when I style it straight.

The other experiment came when I hit the town to celebrate my cousin's girlfriend's birthday. (Follow that? There's a test later.) The conclusion is that gentlemen prefer blondes. But, blondes with long hair. I wore an outfit that I have previously worn (Chaddy, don't judge. If it ain't broke, don't accessorize it.) and knew the confidence I exuded (read: response from the male). But this time, I think the sheer volume of long, blonde hair made me a little more noticeable.

Either way, I'll take it and my tracks.

Quick Little Post

If you do only one thing today, tell your loved ones that you love them.

You never know when someone near and dear to you will be called home in line with His plan. One is never meant to understand His timing, but we must have faith and trust that everything happens for a reason.

Love, support, comfort, and sympathy for my friend and her family.

With peace, love and light for your days.
